Eve

The Holiday knitting is done, and wrapped.
The children are running around excited and full of treats.
There is just enough snow on the ground for Santa's sleigh,
and a good weather forecast for our Christmas Day drive.
The eggnog is chilling.
The stockings are hung...

There will be knitting by the lights of the tree

as we wait for Santa's arrival later tonight...

Blissful.

Wishing you Peace and Joy this Holiday Season

and of course, Love...

Happy First Christmas in Heaven Toni, we all miss you still, each and every day.

We are watching over your beloved Ian and Rebecca for you, no worries.

Pictures? We don't need no stinkin' pictures!

Which is good, because who has time to take any stinkin' pictures?

Let us just say that the Holiday knitting continues, and if I would just stop saying, "How long can one more feather and fan scarf really take?", things would ease up here at Chez Finley.

I will post some pictures of something here soon...but I swear, my bamboo needles are knitting so fast, they just might catch on fire!

YIKES! Only eight days left...

Holiday Knitting Continues

Well, I have been mostly knitting for the holidays still. Scarves, lots of scarves, some have been wrapped already, but this is the one currently on the needles:

It is another Feather and Fan lace pattern scarf. This one made of Caron Wintuk in lavender. I don't usually care for 100% acrylics but this color is beautiful and this particular yarn knits up beautifully with great body and stitch definition, plus my sister will be able to wash it if my neice gets it dirty (she's almost 3, so washable is a must!).

Yesterday we had our first Snow Day of the year...it was nice and relaxing and I got most of what you see here done while watching the Food Network. It's nice to have a three day weekend. I have one next week as well, as I am taking a personal day to get some Christmas shopping done without having to drag three boys around. That will be refreshing!

???

OK..not really sure what to blog about, and don't have any good pictures. Not that there hasn't been knitting, there has, but it just seems like not that big a deal for some reason lately.

I am home sick for the second time this week. Some sort of nasty stomach/intestinal bug type thing that one of the 124 students in my class every day has graciously passed on to me like an evil internet meme or something. I was out on Wednesday, went in yesterday, and then today--um....no way.

I know I should be happy, I mean, this makes a three-day weekend and all, but instead, I am not. I seem to get sick so much lately, I am beginning to realize that perhaps it is a sign that I am not taking good enough care of myself. Not enough relaxation. Not enough selfishness.

Of course, I realize that some of that is impossible when you have a toddler around. As well as an almost teeenager and an 8 year old who just sprang it on you that he has a...girlfriend? OMG! Shhh...that last bit of juiciness is supposed to be top secret information, but he doesn't read this, and you can keep a secret, can't you?

Something is missing. (Or maybe I am just channeling John Mayer? BTW: his new Blues CD John Mayer Trio "Try"=the best thing in my CD player at the moment! Love it!)

Dunno. Life has been stressful, waiting for my DH to get a new job (He just heard, he starts on January 9th). But now that he has it...why the blues? I struggle with the winter months. I really do. I just can't handle the dreariness. I think I will go knit another hat. Pictures to come...promise.
